Around Town: Phoenicia
As a testament to late sunsets and early dinners enjoying them, I wanted to include this post about Phoenicia now, when we are all on that threshold of getting those little flashes of craving for summer. They will just get stronger and stronger as the winter progresses. Luckily, this one hasn’t been too terrible, though fall started out pretty rough for everyone, the weather hasn’t hit too hard yet. I’m actually craving snow! Hopefully we’ll get just the right amount before it’s time to start sitting on the lawn of the Phoenicia Diner again, gazing up at the mountain while the sun blinds us with late evening light. These were shot on a Sony RX-100.
This view driving home never gets old.
Late afternoon reflections on the windows of the timeless stores that lines the main street in Phoenicia.
Breathtaking view of the mountains as a backdrop to this funky little town which feels like a time warp to 1990.
Two types of towers in the same small town.
Bridge over the Esopus with the mountain and fly fisher in his waders.
This sign brings back memories from childhood, coming to Phoenicia with my father to ride tubes down the river at Tinker Town Tube Rental.
