Real Estate: Tinker Street Cottage
To say that I am obsessed with homes is an understatement. I fall in love with so many of the homes that I shoot, for different reasons every time. In this Real Estate section of the journal I want to share some of the homes I’ve had the pleasure or exploring and also the magical and charming quirks that make each home I photograph like a unique friend who I will carry in my memory forever.
That this historic Woodstock Cottage sits facing an old field high with flowing green grasses, and an original red Woodstock barn is only one of its many charms. On the other side of that field is Overlook mountain.
Inside, I fell in love with this exposed wood kitchen space. It has so many secret nooks, an antique corded phone, and not to mention the height of children and family members etched onto the island beam. When inside this space I felt like a magical wood fairy would be cooking meals here while gazing out the window at her ample kitchen garden and large oak trees.
Anytime I see copper pots hanging in a group I immediately imagine all of the delicious soups and hot chocolates that they’ll hold!
I am always drawn towards a bay window filled with plants and a sky blue watering can. A little pop of color in the track lights adds a bit of fun to an otherwise neutral toned space. Lots of wood, white, and a bit of color: the perfect combo!
A little private reading nook replete with cookbooks, and archived magazines. Swoon! And last but not least, the double over, built in china cabinet, and separate wet bar! All perfectly packaged into this sweet little cottage kitchen area.
Living upstate you need a screened in porch for those nights when the mosquitos and black gnats are out doing their thing. Again loved the rainbow wicker collection and ficus trees to bring the outside in.
And finally, a pool!! Right beside the little greenhouse attached to the Mother In Law apartment above a garage. This house really had it all. Not to mention a beautiful yard, and fence to keep the critters out or in! So excited for whoever bought and fell in love with this home! Another one for the books! Thanks for reading along with me, hope you loved this one, too!
